Scallop Sea Shawl | ||||||||||||||||||||
Based on a scallop shell I found in Florida years ago. Chevron rays in stockinette st, separated by rays in purl st and eyelets. Shawl grows and increases in size as a seashell would, growth is marked by repeating garter row ridges along the length of each chevron ray. Garter stitch and lace edging.Finished measurement of shawl (after blocking): 182.9 cm X 91.5 cm or 72" X 36" Shawl requires: 3.75 mm 40" circular needle 400 gm/ 14 oz fingering weight, 2256 m/2467 yds Gauge: 7 sts x 8.5 rows = 2.5 cm/1" over blocked reverse stockinette stitch Cover model knitted with Brown Sheep Nature Spun Fingering 100% wool, N91 - Aran Pattern includes row by row knitting instructions.
