Jackie E-S of HeartStringsFiberArts sent pics of her work in progress on the Tiger Swallowtail Shawl combining intarsia and lace. She doesn't think at this point she will ever finish knitting it, (she is a very busy lady), but she wanted all of us to see her lovely work. Jackie writes:
Before I rip out the UFO, I decided to take pictures to let you (and Brenda) at least see how it was progressing. This is not blocked, so looks pretty scrunched up. But better than nothing.
I did take notes for myself of how I approached combining intarsia and lace, so will keep them for a later time when I may experiment with this again, but on a different design.
Thank you Brenda for a lovely pattern. |

Wendy Shoebottom sent these pics of her beautiful shawl, she writes:
I just want to take a few minutes to thank you for sending me the chart for the Tiger Swallowtail Shawl. It's beautiful. I have knit it with Bernat's Softee Baby in lilac (similar to what is shown on the pattern). It is so soft!
I called it a baby afghan and entered it in our local fall fair. Guess what - first prize! I am thrilled and thought I should share this with you, the designer! Thanks a million.
We had to pin the shawl to the canopy of our lawn swing, and even then the ends hung down. I didn't put the tassels on the shawl, as we have two cats, and I figured the tassels would be too tempting for them.
I'm really pleased and honoured that you want to show my pictures in your gallery. I've been knitting since I was 10 (40+ years ago) and am just becoming familiar with knitting by chart. I found it challenging and fun and I was disappointed when I discovered I had knit the last row.
Thanks for the opportunity to brag a little!
